BIKES | September 13, 2001

When it came out, it was the bike to beat, for me it still is. I have the 99 CBR900RR-X model, and its one hell of a bike. Compared to a 2001 CBR600, it feels very smooth, and the handling is superb. I use it as an all round bike, for those blissful sunny days on country lanes, to commuting, to travelling two up down into france. In comparision to an R1 it does feel very comfortable, almost like comparing a CBR600 to a VFR800, but this does mean that you can travel, fill up with fuel and be ready to go again, something, that is a little more difficult on an R1. A hugger is a must for it, as the rear shock looks attrocious in no time at all. In short if you are considering a bike mainly for the weekend, but want something capable of touring and commuting, then this may well be the bike for you.
