Tara is a '96 Triumph Trident Sprint, a 900cc triple. She puts out just under 100bhp and theoretically 140-something mph, though I've never been close to that. I took one for a test ride in March and loved the low-rev torque the engine has and cornering is sooo precise (compared to the other bikes I'd ridden). So the revvy GSX went off to market and was replaced with a shiny red Sprint.
The engine has quite a rough sound and I get a real kick from accelerating hard... something she can do from about 1,500 rpm :-) Technically she's fairly normal, with a fair few Kawasaki parts, mostly held together with obscure fasteners (we're still sore from having to splash out on a Torx socket set). Fuel consumption's usually 50-something, with around 180 miles range before going onto reserve.
The only problem I've had with her is size - she's a big bike, quite long and weighing in at 500 lbs. She's tall too, I'm 5'8" and had to have her lowered 2"! So she's not brilliant for hustling around the city centre but she's great for long distance runs - I've used her for Devon->Tyneside runs (400 miles) which she just laps up.
