The Yamaha Diversion what more can I say about it, you either love it or you hate it. I am in the minority of those who love it but for what it is and nothing else. How can you describe the Divvy, the words I would use are:
Workhorse
Reliable
Fast Commuter
Tourer
Scratcher (Only a bit)
Nippy.
In the short time (1 Yr.) I have been riding, the Divvy has done me fine. Okay so the bike is not the best looking around, it's not the quickest, but it is a good all-rounder.
Its not the best bike for scratching around country lanes, you'll have a job to keep up with those on the sports bikes, but you'll never find yourself too far behind them.
Fuel consumption is not bad between 40 and 55 mpg, but this all depends on how it is ridden, it is possible to do 150 Miles before going to reserve, which holds another gallon. So far I have found that it goes through rear tyres like nobody's business, one every 4-5000 (I could just be expecting too much!)
So far in 12 months I have put on 13000 miles, and have used it all year round. The upright riding position gives you a good command over the road and helps to make you a little bit more visible to other road users. The seat is comfortable and combined with the upright riding position it is ideal for touring and going two up.
Although it's a 600cc bike it is no way as fast as a ZX6 or CBR6 with just under 60bhp, it will still top 120 (just). The engine is a smooth in-line four with a four in two exhaust system configuration and as standard it don't sound half bad. It does give off a bit of vibration via the pegs at 4-5000 rpm, which shouldn't give much cause for concern.
All in all not a bad mid-sized all round bike.
