The Vector comes in a limited range of colours; "pearl white", "aviation gray", "gloss black" and "strontium silver". Mine's the black. It's neatly finished and appears well made. It's manufactured of a tri-composite material and weighs 1.6kg.

It was immediately comfortable when I put it on, my previous helmet took a couple of weeks to bed in though it's very tight round the ears at the base, I have to hold my ears to the side of my head to get it on without discomfort due to folded ears.

At speed I found that I didn't notice the wind blast nearly as much as I did with my old one, maybe 10-20mph on top of what I'd do usually before having to get down behind the screen.

It has prodigious amounts of venting, two sliders at the front and two vents on top with ram scoops, they're noisy and the helmet whistles, I presume it's the top vents. Having said that, the visor seal is very good, there's a noticable difference in the sound you can hear with the visor open and closed, even with earplugs in.

It doesn't fog as much as the HJC did, the venting helps, it's also a funny shape and the I think the visor is further away from my nose and mouth but it does need a foggy mask, which BTW is spectacularly difficult to fit comfortably, unless you take some scissors to the mask. A handy notch right in the middle of the visor makes opening it a doddle and it seals tight when you push it closed. The visor clips in and out easily, no coins or screwdrivers required.

The D-rings are small and fiddly and the chin strap is narrow and unfeasably long but my fingers have become used to both. The cheek pads are replaceable and the lining washable... Uh huh...

Visibility is good, I barely see the left/right edges of the helmet even looking hard to the left or right, top/bottom is more intrusive, but no more than any other helmet I've worn.

Made in Britain by a British company who also make fighter pilot helmets, firemans helmets, race car helmets etc so they should know what they're doing when it comes to the crunch... It conforms to all the latest standards and has a gold ACU label. Mine's no 15 off the production line and it's handled the last 6 months and 10,000 miles of every day all weather riding fine.
