Bought from MPS for £14.99 after haggling. Advertised at £17.99
The rationale
Accurate chain alignment is essential to minimise chain wear and also essential for good handling. Manufacturer’s alignment marks are not always accurate [1]. Traditional methods involving bits of string and planks of wood are a bit tiresome especially if like me you tend to check your chain at least once a week.
The claim.
"Chain alignment made simple".
In practice:
Clamp the body of the tool to the rear sprocket.

Look down the steel rod towards the drive sprocket.

Adjust the rear wheel until the alignment rod looks straight. [3]

The truth.
Chain alignment made simple. [2]
It really is that simple, probably not as accurate as the straight edge to the front wheel or string method but still quite accurate. Is it worth £17.99 maybe not but I didn’t pay that for it. You may also have to remove the chain guard and hugger so it may not be quite as convenient as first thought.
Rating 6/10.
Recommended: If the price was under a £10.00.
[1] Although Dave at Lloyd Coopers swears by them.
[2] Providing you don’t have to remove a hugger.
