http://www.motorcycle.com/mo/mcnuts/chain.html

Chain lube recommendations
Castrol Chain Wax is good but *never* buy the silver-coloured Yoshimoto stuff.
A cheap and effective lube as recommended by Simes is 50/50 grease and gear oil, applied with a brush.
Then, of course, there's the Scottoiler. Details at http://www.scottoiler.com/

3.11: Milky white substance in oil level window

This is called 'mayonnaise' and is caused by condensation. It happens when the bike is only used for short trips and it doesn't get hot enough to evaporate. The only way to get rid of it is too use the bike for longer, harder and more frequent trips or to change the oil more frequently.

3.12: stainless steal exhaust manufacturer

3.13: Recovering bike seats

Try R K Leighton in Birmingham (no phone number, I'm afraid, but they advertise in the specialist sections of the classic press and maybe also in MCN's trade classes). They do seat covers for just about anything, plus they restore, re-upholster and alter. If they haven't got a pattern for a particular cover in stock, send them your old one and they'll duplicate it. Strongly recommended - a good outfit.

3.19: Removing stickers or glue from paintwork

NOTE: Beware of using anything which is a strong solvent - avoid cellulose thinners, acetone (nail varnish remover) and brake fluid.

ukrm-ers come up with the following suggestions:

White spirit
Decorators heat gun
Use a hot air paint-stripper gun on a low setting (be careful not to get too close as you'll damage the paint)
Contact cleaner
WD-40
Autglym Car Glass Polish
Rain-X
Hair drier
A hot water bottle works sometimes too.

3.24: Aftermarket exhausts

Both Gazelle and O S Stainless will make an exhaust to measure in high-grade stainless. How much it costs depends on the number of silencers, downpipes etc. you need.
e.g. a 4-1 from OS would cost about £300 -£350 complete with 10yr warranty.
