This suit got what I would call a definitive test - on a trip into Manchester the heavens opened not long after setting off. The suit was perfect - not a drop got through to my leathers, but my Sidi Vertebrae let the side down (time to beeswax them again). The rain was definately "driving", but it stayed true to the label's "100% waterproof claim". Unless you count the pocket on the front. That got decidedly damp, but the main suit stayed dry.
The suit itself is mainly black, with a colour across the shoulders. The main zip runs diagonally across the torso to below the waist and has a storm flap and velcro to hold it shut. The ankles unzip and flare to accept boots, then zip up to fit snugly. It takes a few minutes to get into the suit, but once on it is dry.
Fitting was a comic struggle as I tried a medium (came up to my knees then would progress no further) then a large (fitted well, so walked off with it). On sitting on my bike I found I wasn't quite happy with the slight feeling of stretching when I reached for the bars so it got swapped for an XL. This fits well with enough room to stretch to the bars. However, during one evening out I put it on and headed along a dual carriageway. At 70mph into a headwind the suit billowed a little too much. It felt like my arms were being pulled and my hands would leave the handlebars at the first opportuninty. Faster was an impossibility - it was all I could do to stay at that speed. I ended up finding a lay-by, taking off the suit and heading
home. On the other hand I suppose one shouldn't be belting it in bad conditions...
