AGV Q3 X-Vent
BY Verdigris
kit | November 6, 2001

This is a fairly standard composite fiber helmet.  ACU Gold seal and BS approved.

Ventilation is good in the summer, but it can be a little bit cold in the winter; there's always a bit of a draft through the chin vents.

It has a quick-release visor but the standard visor is not terribly good; I've had problems with it leaking a little in very wet weather.  It's quite bad if you want to fit a Fog City Fogshield; there are knobs for tear-offs and the insides of these overlap the seal of the fog shield.  Unfortunately these leak just a tiny amount.  Not noticeable normally, it's enough to get a film of water inside the fog shield.  I eventually solved the problem by getting a Bob Heath visor replacement.  The first time I did this because the visor had been damaged, but when I replaced that helmet I actually bought a new visor specially.

Noise is OK; not especially quiet but by no means noisy.
For the money - I paid £170 for a plain black one - it's a decent helmet
